Christian Horner is poised to engage in crisis discussions with the head of the FIA regarding the controversy surrounding the recent email uproar.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem is scheduled to have crucial discussions with Christian Horner, the embattled team principal of Red Bull Racing, at the Bahrain International Circuit on Friday afternoon. As the president of Formula One's governing body, the FIA, Sulayem will engage with Horner to deliberate on the appropriate course of action following the resurgence of controversy surrounding allegations of misconduct made against him.

Despite Horner's exoneration by an independent investigation into the claims made by a female employee of Red Bull Racing on Wednesday, the situation escalated on Thursday. A leaked email containing purported messages between Horner and the female staff member was circulated to media outlets, team personnel, and high-ranking figures within F1 and the FIA.

The authenticity of the leaked messages remains unconfirmed, and it's unclear whether they were part of the initial investigation. Nevertheless, the impact of the email on the sport has been significant. Despite this, Horner reiterated his denial, stating, "I won’t comment on anonymous speculation. But to reiterate I have always denied the allegations."

The FIA and Formula One are reportedly engaged in discussions to evaluate the ramifications of the controversy on the sport. The FIA is expected to formally request a copy of the investigation from Red Bull GmbH, the team's parent company, which initiated the inquiry. They are contemplating the repercussions on the sport, considering their regulatory authority and the sporting code, particularly Article 12.2.1(f), which addresses actions detrimental to the reputation of motor sport and the values upheld by the FIA.

Both the FIA and Formula One have refrained from making official statements on the investigation or its aftermath, as they have not yet received the report, which Red Bull GmbH has opted not to release to safeguard the confidentiality of those involved.

On Thursday, McLaren team principal Zak Brown and his Mercedes counterpart, Toto Wolff, called upon the FIA and Formula One to demand transparency from Red Bull, urging the release of the report for the betterment of the sport.
